Brodosplit Lays Keel for Jumbo Shipping’s Heavy Lift Vessel, Croatia

Brodosplit Lays Keel for Jumbo Shipping's Heavy Lift Vessel

Brodosplit Shipyard held keel laying ceremony for Hull 474, the second Heavy Lift Vessel that Brodosplit is constructing for Dutch-based Jumbo Shipping company.

A complex project like this was never before built in Croatian shipyards. The heavy lift vessels with 152m length, 27m width and 14.000t deadweight at draft of 8,1m, will be equipped with two engines of 4500 kW at 750 rev/min, which would enable them to develop maximum speed of 17 knots.

They will be equipped with two cranes each, with a total lifting capacity per vessel of over 3000t max, which would make them biggest in Jumbo’s fleet.

The ships are being built in Lloyd’s Register class. Delivery of the first vessel is due in the first half of 2013, and the second will be delivered by the end of 2013.
