Cape Sharp Tidal Moves Turbine to Halifax for Ballasting

Cape Sharp Tidal plans to move first tidal turbine to Halifax in the coming days to ballast the steel subsea base with concrete.

Transit time from Pictou Shipyard to Halifax will be about three to four days, the company informed.

The environmental monitoring plans for the FORCE site continue to be a topic of discussion around Nova Scotia.

“While we undertake the ballasting work, we will continue our outreach and consultation activities—and in fact for a time after that as well. We are moving the turbine to Halifax, but not moving ahead with deployment right away. Our commitment to our employees, stakeholders, communities and everyone who is following our project is to communicate our plans for deployment before transit to the FORCE site begins,” Cape Sharp Tidal said.
