A company official noted in a brief social media statement that the 40,000-cbm liquefied natural gas carrier fitted with LNT A-Box system for China Yangtze River operation received AiP from China Classification Society (CCS).

The LNT40 is a shallow draught LNG carrier based on LNT A-Box containment system. The vessel is a medium scale LNG carrier suitable for river trades, capable of reloading cargoes and has been developed to meet the growing demand for local and regional distribution of LNG.

The vessel is capable of serving smaller terminals in coastal areas and rivers where large scale infrastructure is not feasible, Saga LNG Shipping, LNT Marine parent company noted in its vessel specs.

In its notice, CCS said the vessel is compliant with its rules, approving the design in principle.
