Ceona Receives DNV Certifications

SURF and subsea construction contractor Ceona has received ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004 and BS-OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications from DNV for the provision of project management, engineering, procurement and management services to the oil and gas industry.

Dave Munro, VP HSEQ at Ceona, commented: “Ceona has earned these certifications within 13 months of forming, which is a remarkable achievement and testimony to the commitment and experience of the personnel involved. We are proud of this achievement in line with the spirit of excellence we are developing in the company.”

Ceona, which has offices in London, Aberdeen and Houston, is progressing with the construction of new build support vessels. Its flagship vessel, the Ceona Amazon, is a multi-functional vessel capable of operating in multiple pipelay mode installing both rigid/flexible pipe and umbilicals. At 199 metres long, it is equipped for heavy lifting with two 400 deepwater cranes, and has capacity to carry more than 9,000 tonnes of rigid pipe. The Ceona Amazon is due to enter service in January 2015.

The Polar Onyx is a high-capacity flexible pipelay and construction vessel designed to the highest standard for dynamic positioning, DP-3, and equipped with a 250t AHC offshore crane. Like the Ceona Amazon, it is capable of installing pipeline and umbilicals to depths of 3,000 metres. Recently floated out of dry dock in Norway, the Polar Onyx is on track for delivery in April 2014.
