Chart delivers first skid mounted LNG station to Gasrec

Chart Industries said that Chart Ferox, its unit in the Czech Republic, has supplied its first skid mounted LNG refuelling station to Gasrec’s Bridgwater site in the UK.

The station includes a 30m3 horizontal LNG storage tank, submerged transfer pump & LNG dispenser all mounted within a single frame.

A separate 10’ container includes a remote panel, providing both Programmable Logic Controller Systems and pneumatic logic control of the station which features vent-free filling.

The station is the latest development in Gasrec’s programme to establish a national network of Bio-LNG/LCNG truck refuelling stations throughout the UK.

BioLNG & LNG are cheaper and cleaner alternatives to conventional diesel fuel in terms of fuel economy & exhaust emissions.

“Chart created the LNG system solution of optimized fuel stations and on-board fuel systems that has proven to be simple and reliable and minimizes the risk of methane loses. Low cost implementation benefits fuel station owners, vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators,” stated Hans Lonsain, President of Chart D&S Europe.

Bridgewater is Gasrec’s second open-access UK Bio-LNG filling station and the first in the South West. The company is working closely with retail and distribution customers to develop its network of stations across the country. “We were pleased to have the support of a number of existing customers as we opened this station,” explains Ben Sawford, Gasrec’s chief commercial officer. “As news of the facility grows I am confident many other businesses will see the benefit its location brings in extending the reach of gas powered HGVs in the region and through into Devon and Cornwall”.
