Cheniere said last week that substantial completion of Train 5 was achieved on March 7, 2019, only days after it has reached substantial completion at the Corpus Christi liquefaction in Texas.

According to the company, commissioning was completed and EPC partner Bechtel turned over care, custody, and control of Train 5 to Cheniere.

Under sale and purchase agreements with Centrica and Total, the date of first commercial delivery is expected to occur in August 2019 upon which the term of each of these SPAs begins.

The company added that Cheniere and Bechtel had declared substantial completion on five liquefaction trains at the Sabine Pass LNG project ahead of each train’s completion date and within project budgets.
