Cheniere requests pre-filing initiation for Corpus Christi expansion

Cheniere informed it has filed a request with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the initiation of the pre-filing review process of the company’s proposed expansion of the Corpus Christi liquefaction project.

The proposed Stage 3 consists of the addition of two liquefaction trains and a fourth LNG tank to the project. In order to deliver feed gas to the Stage 3 project, Cheniere is proposing to construct and operate the Stage 3 pipeline, a new 22-mile-long, 42-inch-diameter pipeline that would run parallel to the 48-inch-diameter pipeline.

Cheniere expects to file its application no later than January 2016 and in that respect it will request that FERC issue an order authorizing the siting, construction and operation of the project no
later than March 2017. Cheniere anticipates filing the project implementation plan immediately thereafter and requesting authorization to commence construction by May 2017.
