Cheniere’s CEO sells 50,000 shares

Charif Souki, CEO of US LNG player Cheniere, sold 50,000 shares of the company’s stock on the open market in a transaction dated August 17.

The shares were sold at an average price of US$68.18, for a total value of about $3.4 million, according to an SEC filing.

Souki now directly owns 3,800,089 shares of Cheniere’s stock, valued about $259 million.

The Houston-based LNG player Cheniere has recently entered into sales arrangements with Électricité de France (EDF) for the delivery of liquefied natural gas cargoes from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal to the Dunkerque terminal in France.

The sales arrangements cover the delivery of up to 26 cargoes, or up to approximately 100 million MMBtus, through 2018.
