China: CIC Jiangsu Shipyard Marks Another Important Milestone

CIC Jiangsu Shipyard Marks Another Important Milestone

On November 3rd, 2011 CIC Jiangsu Co. performed the operation of “three ships undocking after six ships floating at one dock”, three 57000dwt bulk carriers “Fu Quan Shan”, “Su Jiang 10” and “Yi Long Shan” were successfully undocked.

It was another important milestone accomplished at No.2 dock after the leading 47,500dwt bulk carrier for Tai Hang Shipping Co., Ltd. (affiliated to Shanxi Coal International Energy Group) was smoothly launched from 80,000 tonner slipway on November 1st, 2011, which formed a new production peak and laid a good foundation of finishing production task of this year and proceeding with the shipbuilding production in the coming year.

In the morning, the busy and bustling No. 2 dock was full of rich multi-colored decorations, and the colored flags were fluttering in the breeze. In the thundering sound of the gun salutes and whistles, with the intense but orderly work on the spot, three 57000dwt bulk carriers stably undocked in a sequence. In the afternoon, other three floated bulk carriers with shipyard series number 22#57000dwt, 23#57000dwt and 1#46000dwt smoothly fixed their positions at the dock and the dock gate was closed safely. For the above operation CIC Jiangsu Co. had made three-dimensional computer simulations for the first time and demonstrated all the steps in advance by computer in order to pre-control the whole procedures accurately.

At the present time, the shipbuilding pattern of “three ships undocking after six ships floating at one dock” has been getting maturer day by day. In connection with the new shipbuilding concept and management method, the production and organization mode has been promoting continuously, the on-the-spot management has been optimizing steadily, and the shipbuilding production has been running more smoothly.
