Hantong Shipyard Splashes 57.000 DWT Bulk Carrier

Recently Hantong Shipyard, from its slipway No.1,  successfully launched the 57.000 DWT Bulk carrier (HT082) which is being built for DASIN. The construction works on this 57.000 DWT bulk carrier began in June 2011 with the steel cutting ceremony and the keel laying ceremony for the vessel had been successfully carried out in November 2011.

The vessel, built for DASIN and class approved by LR, is a new type of supramax bulk carrier optimised to burn less fuel oil. The daily main engine consumption at a speed of 14 knots at ballast draft, which would have been about 29.4 tonnes, is now about 26 t and the daily main engine consumption at a speed of 13.5 knots at design draft, which would have been about 29.8 t daily, is now about 26.30 t.
