Nanjing Wujiazui Shipbuilding Delivers Container Vessel MV Italian Express

On Thursday, January 5th 2012, Vroon took delivery of MV Italian Express, the second of two 1,085-TEU container vessel built at Nanjing Wujiazui Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., China. The vessel is so-called “Ice class” and capable of trading in severe cold conditions.

Her sister vessel, Istrian Express, was delivered in September 2011.

In a ceremony held at the Shipyard on 26 July 2011, the vessel was named by Mrs Annelies Bosch, wife of Mr Hans Schrijver, Superintendent Ship Management, Vroon B.V.

The vessel will leave the Shipyard on Friday and commence a time-charter contract with STX Pan Ocean.
