Ouhua Shipbuilding Cuts Steel for Yard Number HN 639

On June 25th 2012,  Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, held the the steel cutting ceremony for yard number HN 639 of MPV31 project. This is the third out of eight vessels of MPV31 series that will be built for China Navigation. HN 637 Vessel, the first vessel of this series, has entered the stage of assembly and sectional fabrication.

The proto-type vessel has a total length of 199.90m, with the length between perpendiculars of 188.79m, molded depth of 15.50m and molded width of 28.2m; the designed speed of the vessel is 15.5 knots. It is a stern-engine vessel with single engine and single oar; the propulsion system consists of the main diesel engine, intermediate shaft, propeller shaft and propeller; the electric power system is composed of three generators and one emergency generator; a propeller thruster is installed at the stem of the vessel; the rudder system consists of a plunger type rudder and a hanging rudder; and 2 electrical anchor capstans and 4 windlasses are installed on the main deck and poop deck. The vessel has 5 cargo holds.

On the midship of the main deck, 4 ship cranes are arranged. Cargo holds No. 1, 2 and 5 are equipped with lift-away hatch covers and No. 3 and 4 with hydraulic folded hatch covers. No. 3 and 4 compartments are provided with centerline bulkheads at the midship with hydraulic folded secondary deck hatch cover arranged.
