China: Repaired MT Sanko Blossom Leaves CIC Changxing Shipyard

 

Recently CIC Changxing shipyard successfully managed to complete the emergency repair of MT Sanko Blossom. MT Sanko Blossom is a tanker vessel registered in Panama. Due to its damages, the vessel had the high requirements of repair works, technology and repair period.

The Production Department was instructed to work around clock on the project. Considering the situation, the shipyard arranged an excellent steel work team. In order to ensure the quality of construction and progress, they overcame the difficulty of constructing the forecastle deck despite the continual rainfall. The repair manager, supervisors together with all deparments worked closely. The Product Department made the decision to fabricate the block of bulbous bow in the workshop. With the support of the Technical Department, they managed to finish the preliminary planning in just one day and to complete the block fabrication in 3 days, which saved a great deal of time and manpower.

Together with good safety control, the shipyard successfully completed the repair project in time.
