Wuchang Shipbuilding Awards USD 50 Mln Slipway Construction Project to CCCC

Recently, CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co. won the bid for the Slipway Construction Project of the Shuangliu Base of Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Company Ltd with a contract value of 290,000,000 yuan (approx USD 50 Mln). The construction period should last for 14 months.

The project is located at Xinzhou District, Wuhan. A 196×186m slipway with 32 steel rails is planned to be built; a carrier roller and a pulling pallet will be installed in the slipway area in order to launch ships with the wedge type launching cradle and to conduct riprap and revetment treatment.

This project will be helpful to the development of the shipbuilding business in Xinzhou District and it also has a positive significance in promoting the overall transportation capacity of Wuhan New Harbor.

Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Co was founded in 1934 and is one of the key enterprises under China Shipbuilding Industry Corp. (CSIC). There are more than 8300 employees in the company, among them more than 2000 are engineers and management personnel. At the same time, the shipyard owns a backbone team of experienced, skilled and well-trained workers.
