China, the world’s second-largest liquefied natural gas importer, reported a rise in imports of the chilled fuel during the month of April.

During the month of April, China imported a total of 4.54 million tonnes of LNG. This represents a rise of 35.1 percent over the corresponding month last year.

According to the Chinese General Administration of Customs, LNG imports for the January-April period have reached 19.45 mt.

This represents a 40.3 percent jump the data shows.

In terms of value, April imports have reached $2.17 billion while the value of LNG imports for the four months under review have reached $10.37 billion.
