Chongqing Gas investing in LNG infrastructure

Chongqing Gas Group revealed intentions to build two LNG plants in Jiangxi and Zhongxian provinces, China. 

During the first phase of the project, Chongqing Gas will invest 346 million yuan ($54.3 million) to build an LNG processing facility, an LNG/CNG refueling station and a marine berth for LNG bunkering in Jiangxian, the company said in a statement on Monday.

Further LNG refueling stations are planned in the second phase depending on the market demand.

It has also revealed an investment of 480 million yuan for the construction of an LNG plant and filling stations in Zhongxian.

The company firmed up utilization and investment agreements with the governments of the Jiangxi and Zhongxian.

The construction of the facilities is expected to start immediately after all regulatory approvals and construction permits are acquired and are expected to be completed within a two and three-year period for the two projects respectively, the company said.
