CIMC Raffles delivers jack-up rig to Coastal Contracts

Chinese offshore rigs builder CIMC Raffles has delivered the Coastal Driller 4001 jack-up drilling rig to Coastal Contracts Bhd.

Coastal Driller 4001 rig is 70.36 meters long, 76 meters wide and 9.45 meters high, with leg length of 167 meters, with spud can diameter of 18 meters, and designed draft of 6.7 meters.

The rig of the Friede & Goldman JU2000E design can accommodate 140 persons. The unit has a maximum operation depth of 122 meters (400ft), maximum drilling depth of 10668 meters (35000 ft), and minimum Cimc raffles, Coastal Contracts rig, jack-up, photooperation temperature of -20 degree.

The rig was classified to ABS, with basic design by American company F&G, drilling package by Norway AKER MH, detail design and construction design by Shanghai offshore institute and Yantai offshore institute which belong to CIMC Group, and completed construction and delivery in CIMC Raffles.

The owner, Coastal Contracts Bhd, is a Malaysia based marine company that provides marine products and services to the shipping and oil and gas industries.

Apart from the Coastal Driller 4001, CIMC is constructing two more offshore facilities for Coastal Contracts. One jack-up drilling rig of the same design as Coastal Driller 4001, the other a gas compression jack-up unit which is based on CIMC’s Taisun 200B design. Both units are slated for delivery in 2015.
