CLNG Comments on U.S. DOE LNG Export Study Delay

In response to the Department of Energy’s announced delay of its macroeconomic study on liquefied natural gas exports until the end of 2012, CLNG has released the following statement:

We look forward to reviewing the DOE’s macroeconomic study,” said Bill Cooper, president of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas.

Other recent studies indicate that selling some of America’s abundant natural gas resources in global markets represents a major opportunity for the United States to create thousands of new jobs, grow our manufacturing base, generate millions of dollars in new tax revenues that will be invested back into the U.S. economy and expand the benefits of U.S. trade.

The U.S. should move forward with this unique opportunity, ensuring the continued benefits of clean-burning natural gas for our families at home and our friends abroad.”

CLNG is a trade association of LNG producers, shippers, terminal operators and developers, and energy trade associations.
