CNOOC of China Inks Taiwan LNG Deal

Fujian New Energy, a unit of China’s CNOOC, has reportedly signed a deal with Shinfox Corp. of Taiwan to cooperate in developing LNG supplies in Kinmen.

Shinfox and Fujian New Energy have agreed to work together on promoting supplies “promote supplies to small-scale LNG projects” in Kinmen, as part of efforts to mitigate pollution in the area, Platts reported.

Fujian New Energy, in which CNOOC has a 60 percent stake and the Fujian Investment and Development Group owns the rest, is primarily tasked with LNG distribution in China’s southern Fujian province via LNG trucks and small-scale LNG plants.
