The company said that the cargo to the receiving facility in the Guangdong province was delivered onboard MISC’s LNG carrier Seri Cenderawasih.

The 150,200-cbm vessel is the second in a series of five Moss-type LNG tankers that MISC, the shipping unit of Malaysia’s energy giant Petronas, ordered from South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.

CNOOC said the vessel delivered a total of 66,037 tons of the chilled fuel, completing the unloading operation under 22 hours.

The Yuedong terminal, commissioned in May last year, has the capacity to handle 2 million tons of LNG per year.
