CNOOC unloads first Moss-type LNG carrier at Yuedong terminal
CNOOC Gas & Power Group, a unit of the state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation said it has received the first Moss-type LNG carrier at its Yuedong LNG terminal earlier this week.
The company said that the cargo to the receiving facility in the Guangdong province was delivered onboard MISC’s LNG carrier Seri Cenderawasih.
The 150,200-cbm vessel is the second in a series of five Moss-type LNG tankers that MISC, the shipping unit of Malaysia’s energy giant Petronas, ordered from South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.
CNOOC said the vessel delivered a total of 66,037 tons of the chilled fuel, completing the unloading operation under 22 hours.
The Yuedong terminal, commissioned in May last year, has the capacity to handle 2 million tons of LNG per year.
