CSSC Xijiang Shipyard Bags Five

CSSC Xijiang Shipbuilding Co.,Ltd recently announced that the company has won a major contract for the construction of five LNG/diesel vessels.

Under the deal, signed with Guigang Julong Logistics, the shipbuilder will build five dual-fuel vessels, three 5,000 dwt units and two 1,600 units which will operate on the Guangxi rivers.

In the announcement, the shipyard stated that these environmentally-friendly newbuildings would allow a 20% reduction in fuel consumption compared to conventional vessels of similar capacity.

The company didn’t disclose price and delivery dates for the vessels.
