CWind Names Latest 22m Catamaran

CWind has named the latest workboat to join its fleet of crew transfer vessels.

CWind Spirit, a 22m catamaran destined to support offshore wind projects in the UK and continental Europe, was named by Gemma Ross at a ceremony in Ipswich. Gemma, a Bid Manager at CWind, was chosen in a draw among staff members to represent the team during the naming.

CWind Spirit is the third MPC 22, built by CTruk at its new Colchester facilities, to join CWind’s fleet. Her sister vessel, the CWind Artimus is already successfully operating out of Ramsgate and supporting London Array Offshore Wind Farm on a contract announced last month.

Chris Randle, Chairman of CWind, commented at the ceremony: “The naming of a new vessel is always a joyous occasion and the team has really been looking forward to taking delivery of this vessel. It’s an exciting time for all of us here as we expand our capabilities to serve our clients. For our vessels this means more comfort and even better manoeuvrability while maintaining fuel efficiency. For our team of technicians it means expanded work scopes and new project sites.”
