Cyprus: Songa Offshore Provides August Fleet Update

Songa Offshore, Cyprus-based offshore drilling company, provides fleet update for August 2011.

Songa Venus remained warm stacked in Labuan, Malaysia during the month. The rig continued undergoing maintenance and operational preparedness for the upcoming one year contract with Petronas in Malaysia. Commencement has been delayed due to late arriving equipment and is now estimated to take place mid-October.

Songa Mercur continued drilling operations for Gazflot LLC at Sakhalin, Russia. The rig achieved an operating efficiency of 88% during the month.

Songa Dee achieved operating efficiency of 100% during the month. Songa Dee continued to operate for Marathon / Lundin in Norway and have during early part of September commenced the 3 year contract with Statoil on the Gulfaks field in Norway.

Songa Delta achieved operating efficiency of 93% during the month. The rig continues to operate for Wintershall / Det Norske Oljeselskap in Norway.

Songa Trym achieved operating efficiency of 100% during the month. The rig continues to operate for Statoil in Norway.

Songa Eclipse was successfully delivered from Jurong Shipyard in Singapore during the month. The rig has since been moved to Indonesian waters and is currently undergoing contractual upgrade and client operational preparedness work for the upcoming contract in West Africa. Start of mobilization to Angola is scheduled for early October.

The company has during August finalized and signed 8 year firm contracts for two new build “CAT D” units for Statoil. The construction contracts for the two units have also been finalized and signed with DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering co. Ltd) during early part of September.
