Dana Petroleum’s Netherlands Business Gets New Managing Director

Dana Petroleum Netherlands Business Gets New Managing Director

Aberdeen-based Dana Petroleum has appointed as the new Managing Director of its Netherlands business.

Nick Dancer, who previously ran Dana’s operations in Egypt, took up his new position on 1 March replacing Reidar Hustoft, who has recently moved to become Managing Director for the company’s Norwegian business.

Dancer joined Dana in 2008 from Shell where he worked in a variety of exploration and production management roles, first in the Philippines and then in Malaysia. Dancer has considerable experience in exploration and appraisal, having previously worked as a geophysicist with Conoco (UK) Ltd and Enterprise Oil where he was part of the Corrib discovery and development team.

Dancer said: “I am delighted to be leading our Netherlands business, which is recognised as a centre of operational excellence in our company. We operate two superb assets in our Hanze and De Ruyter platforms and have recently brought new production online from a subsea well in the Van Nes field. I look forward to supporting the team as we continue to pursue new exploration and tie-back opportunities to these platforms, as well as growing our asset base.

“We also have longer-term plans to develop exploration and production opportunities in Central Europe, using the considerable skills and expertise we have in the Netherlands business.”
