Danish Authorities Give Nod for Siri Production Restart

The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has approved a temporary production solution at the Siri platform in the Danish part of the North Sea.

Danish Authorities Give Nod for Siri Production Restart

According to DONG Energy which is the operator of the Siri Fairway fields, this means that production at the Nini, Nini East and Cecilie fields may resume in the first quarter of 2014.

The temporary solution involves transfer of stabilised crude directly to tanker. Certain operating restrictions have been imposed, including de-manning of all personnel when significant wave heights at the platform exceed six meters. Consequently, output from the fields will be difficult to predict, especially in the harsh winter months.

Production from the Nini, Nini East and Cecilie fields, in which Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) has an ownership interest, was shut down in the middle of July when a new crack was discovered in the sponson tank at the Siri platform.
