DECC: Share of renewables in 2015 Q1 increases

UK Department of Energy & Climate Change has released energy statistics report for the 3 month period from February to April 2015, with comparison to the same period a year earlier.

Electricity generated in the first quarter of 2015 rose by 1.3 percent, from 93.7 TW/h a year earlier to 94.9 TW/h.

Renewables’ share of electricity generation, including wave and tidal generation, increased from 19.6 percent in the first quarter of 2014 to 22.3 percent in the first quarter of 2015.

Final consumption of electricity during the first quarter of 2015, at 83.5 TW/h, was provisionally 0.7 percent higher than in the same period last year.
