Divers Retrieve Black Box from Sunken Lion Air JT610

Divers have found one black box of the Lion Air flight JT610 that crashed into the Java Sea off Indonesia with 189 people on board.

An airplane has two recorders, one that captures flight data, and another that records the pilot and co-pilot in the cockpit.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 plane, en-route to Pangkal Pinang from Jakarta, crashed near Kerawang just 13 minutes after take off.

The search teams are still recovering bodies of the people that were onboard.

Indonesia’s transportation minister, Budi Karya Sumadi, has asked Lion Air to suspend the licenses of the maintenance officials  of the plane, while they aid in the investigation.

According to media reports, investigators have informed that the preliminary report into the accident could be released within a month but complete findings will take several months.
