The well 6507/7-16 S will be drilled from the Island Innovator drilling rig some three kilometers west of the Heidrun field and 250 kilometers north of Kristiansund.

The drilling program for the well relates to the drilling of appraisal wells in production license 888. The area in this license consists of part of block 6507/7.

DNO North Sea is the operator with an ownership interest of 40 percent, while the other licensees are Wellesley Petroleum and ConocoPhillips with an ownership interest of 30 percent each.

Production license 888 was awarded on February 10, 2017, in APA 2017 on the Norwegian shelf. This is the first well to be drilled in the license.
