Dung Quat Shipyard Hosts Former President of Vietnam

Recently, Former President Tran Duc Luong have visited and worked with Dung Quat Shipyard (DQS). At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi Chairman of DQS reported on the results of production and business activities in 2011 and the plan in 2012.

Despite of encounting many difficulties in the first year of transferred, DQS has achieved encouraging results in repairing and delivering timely 08 vessels to customers: Truong Sa, Con Son, VSP-05, Ba vi, Eagle, Sao Mai 01, Horizon, Sao mai 03. Besides, DQS have launched successfully PVT MERCURY 104.000DWT crude oil tanker, put in using 01 Dung Quat tug boat, continue to build the 105.000DWT Crude Oil Tanker.

DQS also has received three large tonnage crane vessels from VIETSOVPETRO J.V. as Hoang Sa, Con Son and Truong Sa in dock for repairing and converting, which initially confirms that DQS is on the right path towards stability and development.

Not only repairing and building ship for the Domestic customers, DQS has made an effort to expand market, actively access foreign partners such as Korea, Japan, Russia, Venezuela, Malaysia … to seek opportunities for business cooperation. In the last year, DQS Leaders also had tried best to find jobs, assured high income for workers. Former President Tran Duc Luong delighted for the development, positive change of DQS. Former president expected DQS to stabilize soon and become one of the leading shipyards in Vietnam. Former President praised DQS achievements in the last year and wish DQS Leaders and Staffs healthy, complete the business production plan in 2012.
