Dyanagas LNG Partners secures charter contract for Clean Energy

Dynagas LNG Partners, a partnership formed by Dynagas, on Monday signed a charter deal with Gazprom Marketing & Trading Singapore for the employment of the 2007-built 150,000-cbm LNG carrier Clean Energy.

The charter for the partnership’s only non-ice classed LNG carrier is expected to start in July 2018 and last for seven years and nine months, bringing in a revenue of approximately US$133 million over the period, Dynagas LNG Partners said in its statement.

Once the vessel’s current charter agreement with Shell expires in the second quarter of 2017, it will undergo the statutory class five-year special survey and dry-docking. The partnership will also look to employ the vessel under short-term deals until the charter deal with Gazprom begins.

Additionally, Dynagas LNG Partners agreed with Gazprom to reduce the charter income on two vessels, the 2013-built Yenisei River and the Lena River, starting November 1.

Following the amendment, the revenues for the Yenisei River and Lena river will be reduced by approximately $8.7 million and $9.6 million, respectively, over the remaining charter terms.

Yenisei River’s charter deal runs out in July 2018 while Lena River’s term expires in September 2018.
