‘Dynamics and Design of Onshore and Offshore Wind Turbines’ Seminar to Be Held in Essen

A seminar called “Dynamics and Design of Onshore and Offshore Wind Turbines – Overall Dynamics and Component Design” will be held on 25-26th March 2014 in Essen, Germany. It will provide the participants with an in-depth knowledge on the current industrial practice and scientific research.

Wind turbines are exposed to high dynamic loadings that consume particularly mechanical and electrical components. The stability must be ensured over the entire life of the system.

Determining the design loads of wind turbines and their components requires an accurate and systematic overview of various aspects, without which no reliable results can be obtained and analyzed with commercial simulation programs.

The aim of the technical seminar is to give the participants basic physical principles for the design of wind turbines. For this purpose, the interaction of the individual mechanical components is analyzed in terms of the total load of the wind turbines. It is possible to design efficient wind turbines only based on such an analysis.

Practical seminar priorities will be discussed focusing on current developments in the wind energy industry. The lectures will be supplemented by discussions, interactive segments and exercises.
