Economic Times ONGC Hires Aban Ice Drillship

India’s drilling contractor Aban Offshore has secured a contract for its Aban Ice drillship, as reported by The Economic Times, an English-language Indian daily newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the contract worth approximately $200 million comes from the India’s state-controlled oil company, ONGC.

The drillship, capable of operating in water depths of up to 2000 feet, will be on the contract with ONGC for a period of three years.

The 183 meters long vessel is currently deployed off the west coast of India, according to Aban Offshore’s fleet status chart.
