Fugro’s deepwater ROV services to back drilling activities offshore India

Fugro has secured a three-year contract to deliver remotely operated vehicle (ROV)-based deepwater drill support services for India’s government-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

Under the contract secured with Vantage International Management Company, Fugro Survey India will support drilling and completion activities in water depths of up to 3,000 meters on board Vantage’s Platinum Explorer drillship.

The work forms part of ONGC’s deepwater exploration program, aimed at unlocking new offshore energy reserves, strengthening India’s energy security and supporting long-term domestic oil and gas production.

The Dutch firm will deploy its FCV3000 ROV system to provide comprehensive subsea ROV support across all phases of drilling operations, including subsea installation and intervention, drilling and completion support, BOP and well-control monitoring, cementing observation, and seabed inspection.
