EG LNG Ships Eight Excess Cargoes in 2013

In 2013, Equatorial Guinea LNG continued to demonstrate good performance at all levels, from production, to reliability, to safety and environmental stewardship.

Highlights for the year include:

  • Achieving an operational availability of 97% with a best ever 0.18% of unplanned downtime
  • Exceeding the company’s annual delivery program target and shipping 8 excess LNG cargoes
  • Successfully completing major inspections on four frame 5 gas turbines under budget and ahead of schedule
  • Having zero loss time or recordable injuries

Commenting on the year overall, David Thornton, EG LNG’s Operations Manager, stated “In 2013, EG LNG raised the bar for LNG plants worldwide with an impressive unplanned downtime of only 0.18%. This, along with the completion ahead of schedule of planned major inspections on four of the plant’s Frame 5 gas turbines, resulted in the production of 3.97 million metric tons per annum, or nearly 107% of plant design capacity. Furthermore, this milestone was achieved with no lost time or recordable injuries and no significant process safety events, demonstrating EG LNG’s uncompromised commitment to safety and responsible operations.”
