Egypt in Talks with Israel for Gas from Tamar Field

Israel’s Delek Drilling announced the talks with Egypt for gas sales from Tamar and Leviathan fields in a notice to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on Friday.

Delek Drilling confirmed energy companies that operate Egypt’s two liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants were engaged in the talks, Israel’s business newspaper Globes reported.

Discussions are also being held for the gas deliveries, from Israel’s Tamar field to Egypt, via pipeline.

Egypt’s LNG plants at Damietta and Idku are currently operating at partial capacity because of the natural gas shortage in Egypt.
