Eni CEO Meets President of Mozambique

The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza, and Eni’s CEO, Paolo Scaroni, met in Mozambique’s capital, Maputo, to discuss Eni’s ongoing activities and projects in the country.

During the meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of cordiality, Paolo Scaroni together with Claudio Descalzi, COO of Eni E&P, updated President Guebuza on the progress of exploration and future development activities in Area 4 Offshore Rovuma.

Among the issues discussed were the future monetization of the gas resources via development of LNG export facilities, and the supply of gas for domestic power generation as tangible support to the Mozambique Gas Master Plan.

Eni’s ongoing training and sustainability initiatives in Mozambique and its support of the country’s future infrastructure developments were also reviewed.

Eni is the operator of Area 4 with a 70% participating interest. The other partners of the joint venture are GalpEnergia (10%), KOGAS (10%) and ENH (10%, carried through the exploration phase).
