Eni hires Stril Mar vessel for Barent Sea drilling support

Norway’s Simon Møkster Shipping has found work for its Stril Mar vessel. The company’s newest vessel will work under a call-off contract with Eni Norge in Norway.

The contract, starting in a week, is for 13 months firm plus options. The first part of the contract starts in Hammerfest and is for approx. 60 days.

The vessel will assist the Scarabeo 8 offshore drilling rig during exploration and production drilling in the Barents Sea.

As the vessel can provide several services, it will be a part of the oil spill preparedness, and will also provide standby duties when needed, supply duties and FiFi services.

“Under the current market conditions, we are very excited that we once again have been awarded a contract with ENI Norge, which also has Stril Barents on a long term contract,” the Norwegian ship owner said.
