Eolfi Appoints New CEO

French floating wind developer Eolfi has appointed Vincent Fromont as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Fromont will head up the Executive Committee, which includes Nicolas Paul-Dauphin, Chief Operating Officer, Antoine Ecochard, Chief Financial Officer and Joseph d’Arrigo, General Counsel.

“Since 2012, EOLFI has adopted a global vision of the floating offshore wind market, while continuing to develop onshore wind and photovoltaic projects. My experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, similar to floating wind power, convinces me that EOLFI is now able to develop this sector on a global scale,” said Vincent Fromont.

The new CEO is a senior onshore and offshore oil and gas executive with more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Eolfi said, emphasizing that he has experience in various business and operational senior leadership roles working for JGC, Subsea 7 and TechnipFMC, both in France and abroad.

Alain Delsupexhe, Eolfi Founder and President of EOLFI, said: “Vincent Fromont provides us valuable experience for our teams, our partners and in the development of EOLFI in America as well as Africa, Europe and Asia. His international profile and outstanding management skills convinced me that he will be able to steer our firm towards great success in floating offshore wind power, while maintaining our growth in the onshore market.”

In July 2016, Eolfi, in a consortium with CGN EE, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and Meridiam and in partnership with GE, Naval Energies and Valemo, won ADEME’s EOLFLO call for projects for the development of the 24MW Groix & Belle-Île floating in France.

The project will comprise four GE Haliade 6MW wind turbines installed on semi-submersible floats about 13km south of Groix and 19km from Belle-Île.
