Eneco Luchterduinen Export Cable Landed on Dutch Shore

With a recent arrival of the export cable at the Dutch shore, the Luchterduinen offshore wind farm, located 23 kilometers off the coast of Noordwijk and Zandvoort, has reached another important realisation step.

Export Cable for Eneco Luchterduinen OWF Landed on Dutch Shore

The cable will transport the energy of 43 wind turbines with a total capacity of 129MW to shore. It will take the installation vessel NDurance about two weeks to install the cable from the shore to the high voltage substation at the wind farm.

The cable will be buried by means of burial tool Trenchformer.

The next step will be to connect the export cable and the land cable in the beach pit near Noordwijk. The land cable connection from the beach to the substation of TSO TenneT in Sassenheim has already been completed and successfully tested last month. The construction works at the beach are expected to be finished in November 2014, while the wind farm itself is expected to be operational by the end of 2015.

Ecofys provides the package manager for the design, fabrication and testing of the complete electrical infrastructure. The package manager has also been involved in the design and interface management of the beach pit works.
