Far Strider Leaves North Sea for Brazil

Brazil’s state-run oil and gas company Petrobras, has charter a Platform Supply Vessel from Norway’s Farstad Shipping.

The vessel, Far Strider, built in 1999, has been awarded a four year contract with a four year option in Brazil by Petrobras.

The 82.85m long ship, able to accommodate a crew of 22 persons, is currently operating in the North Sea and is expected to leave for Brazil during June 2013. The value of the firm contract is some $39 million.

Far Strider is one of the 26 Platform Supply Vessels in Farstad Shipping’s fleet. The company also has 3 PSVs under construction.
