Faroe granted drilling permit for another Brasse well

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Faroe Petroleum Norge a drilling permit for the well 31/7-2 A, offshore Norway.

The well 31/7-2 A will be drilled from the Deepsea Bergen drilling rig in production license 740 in the North Sea, which contains the Brasse discovery.

The drilling program relates to the drilling of an appraisal well. Faroe Petroleum Norge is the operator with an ownership interest of 50 percent and Point Resources is a licensee with 50 percent.

The area in this license constitutes a part of blocks 31/7 and 30/9. Production license 740 was awarded in APA 2013, on February 7, 2014. This is the fourth well to be drilled within the license.

Offshore Energy Today reported earlier on Monday that Faroe had encountered “outstanding flow rates and reservoir quality” in the Brasse appraisal well as the company gears up for the side-track well.
