Ferry Sinks Offshore South Korea Leaving Two People Dead

A ferry named “Sewol“ carrying over 400 people on board sank in the vicinity of the South Korean island of Jeju.

According to the latest report from BBC, two people have died, at least 13 were injured and the search is ongoing for the missing persons.

The passengers on the ship were mainly high school students and crew members.

Ships and helicopters from Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force are participating in the rescue mission.

The authorities can’t confirm the cause of the incident, but according to the rescued passengers they felt an impact from the front side of the ship, after which the ship began tilting.
