Final Culzean Jacket in Place

The jacket for the utility & living quarter platform (ULQ) has been installed on the high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) Culzean development field, Heerema Fabrication Group informed through social media.

The third and the final jacket follows the installation of the central processing facility (CPF) jacket set up earlier this month. The jacket for the wellhead platform was installed in May last year.

The CPF jacket, set sail from Heerema Fabrication Group’s Vlissingen facility on June 28, followed by the ULQ jacket on July 7.

The deepwater construction vessel (DCV) Thialf installed both jackets which are approximately 115 meters tall, with a footprint of 38 x 38 meters.

Maersk Oil now expects the arrival of the topsides over the course of 2018.

Located in the British sector of the North Sea, Culzean field is seat for production start in 2019, which should continue for at least 13 years.
