Fluxys LNG to offer Zeebrugge terminal capacity

Fluxys LNG said it intends to launch a subscription window in the second half of April for unloading slots and additional storage services at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal.

The subscription window is the opportunity for companies to secure LNG terminalling capacity at the Zeebrugge LNG terminal, Fluxys LNG said in its statement.

While gas production in the Netherlands and the North Sea is declining, gas demand for power generation will increase to accommodate the phase-out of sizeable coal, lignite and nuclear power generation capacity in the region, making the capacity at the Zeebrugge terminal highly attractive because gas import needs in Northwest Europe are set to rise significantly.

The Zeebrugge LNG terminal offers direct access to the Belgian market (ZTP), fully interconnected with the gas systems of all surrounding markets (TTF, Gaspool, NCG, TRF and NBP) and take-away capacity from the terminal is readily available.

The Zeebrugge LNG terminal, that mainly imports LNG from Qatar, has an annual throughput capacity of nine billion cubic meters of natural gas.
