FMC Requests Additional Information from P3 Network Vessel Sharing Agreement

FMC Requests Additional Information from P3 Network Vessel Sharing Agreement --

Recently the Federal Maritime Commission voted to approve a request for additional information from the parties to the proposed P3 Network Vessel Sharing Agreement, FMC Agreement No. 012230. This request for additional information delays the effectiveness of the proposed agreement. After the parties have submitted the requested information and documents, a new 45-day regulatory review period will begin.

Notice that the Commission has issued this request for additional information will be published in the Federal Register next week and will announce a 15-day public comment period for interested parties to further comment on the proposed agreement. The Commission’s request itself is not available to the public.

The proposed agreement would authorize the parties to share vessels and engage in related cooperative operating activities in the trades between the U.S. and Asia, North Europe, and the Mediterranean.

The Federal Maritime Commission is the federal agency responsible for regulating the nation’s international ocean transportation for the benefit of exporters, importers, and the American consumer. The FMC’s mission is to foster a fair, efficient, and reliable international ocean transportation system while protecting the public from unfair and deceptive practices.
