Forewind Presents Career Opportunities in Offshore Wind Industry (UK)

The wealth of career opportunities offered by the growing offshore wind energy industry will be the focus of a presentation given by Forewind together with The Crown Estate at a meeting of careers counsellors and training service providers in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire region, next week.

Organised by the local Connexions Services, the May 11 meeting aims to give those providing career guidance for 13 to 19 year olds an overview of the wide range of options the industry offers.

The Crown Estate’s Mike Hanley will cover the development of the UK wind industry and Round 3 Offshore Wind Farm Programme while Forewind ‘s Onshore Consent and Stakeholder Manager, Nikki Smith will outline the broad cross-section of roles available, and the skills or education required to fulfil those roles.

“The wind industry has the potential to generate thousands of jobs in the UK so we want to help young people understand the exciting and varied career opportunities that are on offer,” Nikki said.

Supporting materials will include The Crown Estate brochure ‘Your career in wind energy’.
