GALLERY: Secretary Jewell Visits OTC 2013 (USA)

As part of the Obama Administration’s commitment to the safe and responsible development of offshore resources, the recently appointed Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell traveled to Houston, Texas Wednesday to attend the 2013 Offshore Technology Conference.

Secretary Jewell toured the exhibition floor and spoke with offshore oil and gas industry stakeholders and saw firsthand the current and developing technologies used for offshore exploration and production.

Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is a conference and exhibition, focused on the development of offshore energy resources, primarily oil and natural gas. It was started in 1969 and is held annually during the first week of May at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas, USA.

Also, Jewell last week visited an offshore drilling rig and production platform in the Gulf of Mexico, capping a two-day visit to the Department’s regional offices that oversee oil and gas development in federal waters.
