Only six days after her delivery from the Meyer Turku shipyard, the youngest vessel in the TUI Cruises’ fleet, Mein Schiff 4, arrived at the Port of Kiel on May 14th, marking her first passenger port call.

In the early morning of May 14th, the Port of Kiel’s workers had a chance to watch the 293.5-meter long ship entering the Fjord and docking at the cruise terminal Ostseekai.

Dr Ulf Kämpfer, Mayor of the state capital Kiel, welcomed the ship saying: “Kiel is proud to have the honour of welcoming this great new ship of TUI Cruises as first port. Today already, our anticipation for christening ‘Mein Schiff 4’ at Kiel’s Ostseekai is huge.”

Upon completing the visit, Mein Schiff 4 will leave the port and head for several short cruises, then returning again to the port for her special day.

June 5th will be a big day for TUI Cruises, as well as for the Port of Kiel. The port will host the christening ceremony for the ship, welcoming the ship’s sponsor, the swimming legend Franziska van Almsick.

The ship will be opened for visiting, before her departure, on May 17th & 18th, May 20th, and May 25th & 26th.

The following gallery brings you some moments from today’s arrival at the port, so take a look:
