Gastech: CoTEs to Focus on LNG Ship Technology

Gastech: LNG Carrier Ship Technology to Be Focus of CoTEs Programme

Gastech, the world’s leading LNG and natural gas conference and exhibition, will host a day-long seminar on LNG & Gas Carrier Ship Technology as part of its Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs) programme, a series of free exhibition seminars at Gastech 2014, taking place at KINTEX exhibit and conference center in Seoul, South Korea, from March 24 to 27, 2014.

The Gastech CoTEs technical seminar programme is dedicated to delivering knowledge, education and awareness of technological innovations in the gas industry. The focus on LNG and gas carrier ship technologies will be of special interest to Korea, the world’s biggest builder of LNG and gas carrier ships.

Leading industry associations and high-level speakers from some of the world’s most-respected global gas industry companies and organizations will participate in the CoTEs. The LNG & Gas Carrier Ship Technology stream will be presented by Lloyd’s Register, and representatives from Hyundai Heavy Industry, General Dynamics NASSCO/Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, France’s GTT engineering group, Maran Gas, Germany’s MAN engineering group and Fraunhofer AGP Rostock are confirmed to share the latest developments in technology.

Topics to be covered during the stream include designing and operating energy efficient gas ships, innovations in LNG cargo containment and storage systems, new developments in gas ship technology and updates on gas ship engine technology.

LNG & Gas Carrier Ship Technology will be one of the nine CoTEs streams at this year’s event, which also include offshore & subsea technology, liquefaction, LNG fuel technology, power generation, natural gas vehicles, health, safety, security & environment, pipeline infrastructure and NGL & GTL technology.

“Gastech has become a global forum where the marine community gathers to focus, and the focus is always clear, it is gas. This helps to listen to and connect with the whole gas market at one location,” said Luis Benito, global strategic marketing manager for Lloyd’s Register.

“The participation of high caliber personalities in the world of gas markets and trading, regulators, governments, technology companies, operators, and shipbuilders makes the Gastech week a unique event to capitalize on. The exhibition includes all the relevant big names in the world of gas and an excellent chance to connect with key people attending throughout the week.”

The LNG & Gas Carrier Ship Technology CoTEs stream takes place at the Gastech Exhibition on Wednesday 26 March 2014 at KINTEX1. For more information, please visit www.gastechkorea.com/ko/cotes
