Gazprom, BASF discuss gas cooperation

Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Vitaly Markelov and Hans-Ulrich Engel, Member of the BASF Board of Executive Directors held a meeting addressing natural gas exploration, production and transmission. 

The parties gave special attention to the development of the Yuzhno-Russkoye gas field, which produced a total of 177 billion cubic meters of gas since commissioning, Gazprom informed in a statement. Together with volumes from the Urengoy field, the partnership produces 12.9 billion cubic meters.

The Coordination Committee formed by the two companies also discussed technical advancements in gas field development, operation and maintenance, operations control and environmental protection, the statement added.
